I am a huge fan of VMware! I use it often, but outside my fathers engineering company I can not seem to convince many small businesses to use it. However, I honestly believe virtualization is on of the greatest things I have seen develop over the last 10 years and I am exited to see where the next ten will lead us.

Google apps calendar syncs with lighting (mozilla calendar), outlook, and windows mobile using active sync (probably more). It also syncs contacts on windows mobile and a few other things. It didn't used to though. I add a calendar even on my palm treo (windows mobile) and it magically appears on my google calendar.. and vice versa. You can have up to 100 users without paying I believe. I too am an accountant (no really I have degrees in accounting and CIS :) so I understand the lock to the windows world. And trust me accounting products like Peachtree and timberline don't run well in wine.
