ABLEconf's call for proposals is now open.

The annual Arizona Business Liberty Experience Conference (ABLEconf)
brings together technology experts and business leaders to discuss how
open technologies can help transform Arizona businesses. It is a meeting
place where innovative companies can discuss how they have benefited from
open source technologies, and where technology experts can gain real-world
feedback from business leaders on their latest projects. Previous
attendees and presenters represent a wide array of backgrounds, including:

    Developers and programmers
    System administrators
    Hackers and geeks
    Enterprise architects
    Business Analysts
    IT managers, CxOs and entrepreneurs
    Trainers and educators
    Open source enthusiasts and activists

We welcome participants who are willing to share their experiences solving
real world business challenges with free / open source software. We invite
you to submit a proposal for sessions, posters, tutorials, and panel
discussions at ABLEconf 2012. Proposals should include as much detail
about the topic and format as possible, and follow the guidelines listed
below. We are looking for a wide array of potential topics, including but
not limited to:

    Doing more with less
    Open technology in smart phones and mobile networked devices
    Cloud computing, openness in distributed services
    Geek lifestyle – hacking, quantified self, inbox zero, maker culture
    Best practices for building a business around open technology
    Open web, open standards, open data
    Open technology transforming government, health care and education
    Using open practices in management
    Information security
    Software licensing
    Multimedia applications for open source
    Interoperability
    Emerging technologies

Presentation Types

ABLEconf 2012 will have a variety of opportunities to present your ideas.
This includes:

    Tutorial Sessions: These 3-hour sessions are designed to give hands-on
experience working with open-source technologies.
    Presentations: These are 50-minute presentations that should include
time for a question-and-answer portion.
    Panel Discussions: These 50-minute panels are meant to be more
informal, and give multiple speakers a chance to dialogue with the
audience.
    Hackfests: These 6 hour long events will run throughout the
conference.
    Open Labs: There will be opportunities to have a sponsored, open-lab
session throughout the conference. These are meant to be very interactive.

    Call for Participants Early Bird Deadline: November 20, 2011
    Call for Participants Final Deadline: December 11, 2011
    Notification to All Submitters: January 9, 2012
    Program Announced and Registration Opens: January 20, 2012
    ABLEconf 2012: March 24, 2012
