Start with the end in mind. What do you want to do? Is this a hobby or do you
want to build skills for employment? Or is there another motivation?
Knowing this will help shape the feedback you will get.

beginners book. That said... this is REALLY off topic for PLUG, and I
would not count on folks wanting to debug entry-level programming.
