*System/KDE is tuned to the best of my knowledge*.
</config>

I recently (actually first time on my home linux box) installed
thunderbird and firefox. I don't know if any of you have noticed
the same, but both the above seem to be very sluggish on my system.

sluggish - Bringing focus to any of these two apps pauses around a
second.

Upgrade to a higher version is an option, but I do not want to. My
system is well set and does what I want, pretty *nicely*. Its just
these 2 new GTK packages which are exhibiting the sluggish behaviour.
Actually even my new eclipse(eclipse.org) 3.1 stream build which
sports a GTK2 UI has the same issue.

Caveat, I am already loving all the above apps and am infact using
them in my corporate env on a regular basis running on a win32 system...

I request you guys not to suggest links/lynx/koq/KMail/Sylpheed/GTK
apps running on KDE gotcha etc etc :-)

Any pointers?

Thanks,
-Andy
