Hi Manjusha,

well, the reason people at HP/Compaq are not very conversant with
Linux is that they have very recently tied up with Turbolinux to
support OSs for their home/office machines. But, Turbolinux themselves
provide support in stead. My point is, Turbolinux is a perfectly good
(& well packaged) system to use & I feel you might give it a chance
before switching over to Mandrake. As it is, since it is tailored to
your machine's specs, it gives absolutely the least trouble(my own
experience!).

P.S.:- 1) Could you just let me know the version of Turbolinux they're
distributing currently(as it seems the PC is quite new)?
2) If you plan to install XP on it, too, then you'll need the drivers
for various things as well. Do let me know then. I have all of them.
