Hell, I did everything suggested in the howto, most of which is pretty well known already, but I still am not getting the kind of performance that I should actually be getting. Are you saying that you experience minimal/no overhead while using the Composite extension? Does it deliver usable performance at the current stage of development? Also have those of you that are using it on KDE, had to patch kwin, to make it work inherently on KDE? That's the procedure I followed to make it work on KDE.
