Hi All
I am using RedHat 9.0 .
I am using sendmail as mail server.

We do have external mail server which is from third party.
We have around 12 PCs on LAN.
I am using sendmail as mail server for local communication as well as global
communication.
Right now our addressing scheme is [EMAIL PROTECTED] for internal mail
communication. And [EMAIL PROTECTED] for external communication.
Is it possible that I maintain single address for both internal as well as
external communication?
I tried giving host name as xyz.com to the Linux PC.
It solved my problem. But my main problem is many of our members are touring
members.
If [EMAIL PROTECTED] wants to send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], And If [EMAIL
PROTECTED] is on tour, he is not able to access his mail thru the webmail
access, which our third party mail server is providing.
And the mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED] is travelling locally,
instead of travelling globally.
For solution of the problem I made PC name as local.xyz.com.
And Addressing scheme as [EMAIL PROTECTED] for internal communication.
And [EMAIL PROTECTED] for external communication.
So that local mails are travelling locally & immediately. And External mails
are travelling after every two hours whenever I connect the net & do sendmail
-q -v.

But I would like to keep single email Id. And if there is local mail it should
be distributed locally. If it is external mail it should distributed globally.
If any member is on tour He must see the mails thru webmail.

Kindly give suggestions.
