This can be easily achieved.
Hope that broadband modem is connected by using ethernet.
So likely it is using pppoe.
So go to terminal command line as a root issue adsl-setup.
the script is self explaining. & should be through in 3 min.
to start issue adsl-start
adsl scripts are available from Red Hat 8.0 days. so any latter
distro should not have any problems.
You can download rp-pppoe rpm if reqd.
Note this has been satsfactorily working with BSNL DIAS 128 Kbps
(upload & download) broadband connection.

(configure squid, will reduce traffic a bit & so the bills)
