hi
i do not know whether this will surely help but is
worth a shot i had the similar problem and here is how
i went around it you need the information pamplet that
comes with the monitor it will give you values of the
horizontal and vertical frequencies for the monitor
now while installing choose custom monitor and enter
these values and say apply that should solve the
problem again if you have already installed linux and
do not want to reinstall it got to monitor settings (
this is not it actually says but you can go to some
similar setting ) then add the horizontal and vertical
frequency values
that is it .
one more thing you might want to try this to enhance
the things further in your windows os right click on
desktop go to properties then to settings->advanced
and monitor ( in case of xp) and see the refresh rate
given there and then enter the same value in linux
settings
-respectfully
nikhil
