In PLUG, for any queries and problems, we have to rely only on PLUG mailing
list. This is a powerful medium. But sometimes problems are not get solved
my mailing list. It requires some effective talk between members. The
experienced members can solve many queries of novice members. I do not mean
that PLUG's forum should change to VOIP only. But there should be choice for
voice. Using many VOIP telephony software like Skype(offers "free" internet
telephony, available for most of the platforms), this is possible. We can
form a group in the software like Skype. Even the people, not the members of
PLUG can also contact, call the PLUG members. There will be separate
identity for PLUG members. For example, if anybody searches for people
online in India, he will come with result with many people online. But some
members who are having PLUG tag also there. So anybody can call the member
and can solve his queries related to Linux, also can share the knowledge
about Linux. In this there are some restrictions for controlling the useless
talks but this can be minimized by options in the software that blocks
certain users. So as technology changes we must have to change. This was my
just idea!. So adopting this or not is our decision.
