Well, their reasons seem quite justified. If IBM could not give them
faster chips, apple thought it right to move on. Do I think AMD
would've made a better choice? for desktop chips, yes, for laptop
chips? definitely no. Personally, I cant wait for a pentium-m powered
aluminium powerbook to be released.
And isn't that good for mac users too? faster laptops, faster
desktops. Probably cheaper too.
As for how it will affect linux? You seem to follow slashdot, so you
must've read how some people believe otherwise, that this is going to
hurt linux as more open-source devs move to apple.
Just my 2 cents..
