Hi, This book covers the topics that one may need while using Linux as a software development environment. It covers most of such topics as process, threads, ipc, terminals, signals, database (the dbm package), shell script, few linux command and the like. This book can give head start to any one having some software development exp.
There is as such no book that I understand is complete Unix; ;-(. A loot of books are there which deal with specific topics of Unix. For an example, TCP/IP illustrated, which is a three volume book, deals with TCP/IP in great detail, the protocols and their implementations along with the source code. The book UPE can give u some idea on how to use unix as an operating system environment as well as some idea of using shell script and file I/O. ~Abu.
