Download Mp3 support file for xmms google it you will get the file !
check the version no of your kernel and then select appropriate file

Yeah, redhat 9.0 is antique it's like having nothing i suggest you
should go for fedora core 4 or mandrake 10.1 it's the best !!

Mandrake 10.1 comes with built in support for mp3 playing it has a
player named amaroK.
