Hello all,
I am facing a bit of a problem installing hsfmodem-7.18.00.full.tar.gz.
The module does not get compiled. Had to install 7.18.00.05.full.
The latest package complains about stack size being 4kb instead of
8kb.
My query if I recompile kernel with kernel stack at 8kb, will all
packages work properly ?
I am on FC4,i810,256mb,p866 with a lousy dlink int modem.
Thanks in advance. Though I will thank some with useful hints.
Ranjit.
You might want read about 4k stacks in detail to understand the implications

In general 8k stacks will affect the performance of the system as a
whole and such drivers at some cases even demand 12k and might not work
reliably. I would strongly recommend that you use swap the Winmodem you
are using with a hardware modem that works natively in Linux
