I dont know how useful this info would be, but still
here goes...
When I installed ubuntu, it didnt detect my serial
mouse.
so from f1 window i modified the xorg.conf file.
I changed the device from dev/mice to ttyS1. ( u can
try S0 or whatever dev the mouse is using.)
I also changed the protocal from imps2 to Microsoft.
can you try this and let me know ur result.
