Subject: Re: [PLUG] [OT]Linux supports USB pen drive?
That is a really broad generalization. many cameras use compact flash
memory rather than sd memory. If I'm correct, most canon cameras use
compact flash. I think even Nikon uses compact flash.
There is a mix. Most recently rolled models have SD for both Canon and
Nikon.
[ I own a Nikon with SD ]
I can always *try to* choose gadgets to support one family of cards.
I hate olympus/fuji [ xD card ] and sony [ memory stick] for this.
The second point is that the mmc/sd cards are reasonably flimsy, and
cannot be used as keychains (that, literally being the point of the
whole concept)
Even though cf cards are better, I still wont go around carrying them
in my pocket.
Yes you are right here. Carrying them in shirt pocket isnt a good idea.
Although I am not sure how CF are better and SD are flimsy.
I checked sandisk website and they say both can sustain a shock of 10Ft
drop.
