Hi Yogesh: If you want to set your WLAN using Access Point then you can not setup it as ADHOC, you need to set it up in INFRASTRUCTURE mode.
To set up the wireless connection. ----------------------------------- 1. Set up your access point ( must specify ESSID, BSSID, channel and Preamble ). 2. Set up your wireless adapter ( must specify ESSID, BSSID, channel and Preamble similar to your access point ) IP configuration --------------------------- 1. Set up your access point with IP, subnet, mask suitable to your network ( AP is normally connected to network ) 2. Now the WLAN adapter ( connected to your PC ) can be of different type a. USB b. PCMCIA c. ETHERNET/ONBOARD ETHERNET Set the ip address of the WLAN adapter similar to NIC using wconfig/ifconfig. Your PC should be connected to WLAN now.
