Hi, I am replying to my own question so that any one can get the info for connecting sony handy cam in linux.
I purchased Intex Firewire Card which is based on VIA OHCI standard chipset. It comes with a cable. Total Cost - 450 Rs. It is supported in linux. I used kino ( Video Editor ) to extract video from handy cam. It works perfectly !!! Regards, Ameya.
