Dear Kaustubh,

ifconfig shows only one entry for loop back interface,
no other interface is up.
ifconfig is used for configuring the interface once
the interface hw device is detected.

In my case I don't know which interface h/w device to
be used for configuring the interface, as my modem is
conneted to USB port.
