It all depends upon on the purpose you are going to
use the PC for. Basic office work? Home use? As a
server?
Mandriva/Mandrake is good general purpose distro to
begin with, if you are new to Linux. For development,
ppl prefer fedora core for some reason.
If you are using just for desktop/home use, go for
SimplyMepis.
