Actually, SimpleKDE doesn't say its a heavily stripped down version of KDE. It just looks like they've made KDE easier to use for the people transitioning from Windows to KDE. There might be some missing functionality, but I guess that that's something that the SimpleKDE guys have traded for speed and increased usability, both the claims being debatable.
