Actually, we seem to be talking about a lot of different things. The link above 
describes a Russian disto that was based on LFS. IMHO, this project now seems 
dead because they say `Added KDE 2.2' as a new feature. Now, there was one more 
link posted, viz. http://www.linux-online.ru/desktop/. This seems to describe a 
Russian disto, again, but based on Fedora. This 
distro has the `99 boot' and `activation' jazz. Also this distro seems to be 
not free (as in money and freedom), while the
previous one (the one based on LFS) does seem to be free. The screenshots 
posted were of the second, FC based Linux-XP.
The link postes that got this whole thread started, the one pointing to 
tuXfiles.org, was a spoof on WinXP.

Incidentally, can they still use `Linux' in their product name and then make it 
closed/non-free? Isn't there a clause in 
the GPL that protects against this?
