I was *told* that SDRAMs are costly because DDR memory is more widely used.
if there aren't as many buyers for SDRAM, then it will be costly.
Disclaimer: I do not have statistics of DDR users Vs SDRAM users, so
above information may be inaccurate.
DDR prices are going up too. DDR2 is on the scene and is now getting cheaper.
