It's great. I've written some pretty advanced programs using python; and their lenght (in terms of lines of code) is about 5 times smaller than the C counterpart. Easy to learn, easy to write, easy to maintain, has an extensive module library (batteries included), great community (comp.lang.python is VERY helpful).
