To the best of my understanding, the OP's reference was to broadband
service (>256Kbps as defined by TRAI) with CDMA/EVDO.
In layman's parlance, the current set of USB dongles are equivalent to
dial up service, one service is an "apple" the other an
"orange" - no
comparison.

When I asked BSNL guys said evdo gives rate at 400 kbps
(When invstigated it was found bundled application shows sped anyhwere
to 999 kbps while online bandwidth test shows no more than 46 kbps)
