Yes, even I was so sure about the thing that, 'Samba has nothing to do with
Ad-hoc'.
But, the reply on ubuntuforums.org caught me in confusion, pointing that
'Samba is the thing
that has to be used between ubuntu-windows'.
But still, till now, I cud only able to make ad-hoc between ubuntu-ubuntu or
windows-windows.
but not between ubuntu-windows machine [:(]
