Well it is a April Fool's joke for sure.

However, I think you can change attributes of proc filesystem - well chmod
certainly works.
d...@host:(580)~$ sudo chmod a-rw /proc/uptime && ls -l /proc/uptime
---------- 1 root root 0 2010-11-30 18:36 /proc/uptime
