On one hand, we have people who don't even have the basic concept* of copyright (or even propriety), and on the other, an unholy nexus of greedy media companies and hand-in-glove or plain dumb regulators who will ride roughshod on citizens' rights just to protect petty interests. Then you have the Information Technology Act.
Are people willing to take the fight to the opposite camp? It's really tough to get organised, enlist support, and represent with perseverance. Are we willing to invest time, when everyone seems to be so busy and otherwise engaged in productive labours? I don't know. All I expect to see are online petitions that even I would ignore.
