You cannot compare apple to oranges but can demand sweet apples for sure.
If quality is more important than quantity then make "big" in terms of
quality.
Year after year I have seen Gnunfy to shrink down from "National" level
event to college event to event of nearby colleges only. Leave everything
else, it has been a long standing request to open CFP 4 months in advance
so that schedule can be posted few weeks in advance. Which has not happened
citing one reason or other.
No one wants to compare apples and oranges but even if I compare apples to
apples, Linux Australia starts preparation of event 18 months in advance.
The CFP opens 6 months in advance, which leave you time to select talks and
publicize the event.

We do have a dearth of good FOSS events in the country and if someone
wants to take the lead, the ground is still open.

Vivek
