Guys, many thanks for your inputs.

The last thing I need is interruption in work due to AMD processor/board related issues on Linux. I'd rather spend 10k more and go with Intel if there is peace of mind. I just thought there may be enough traction for AMD Ryzen 2nd gen by now and there will be quite a few people in the Linux community here who may have walked the way.

If you know of any good forums where one can get an answer to such a question please do let me know. Somehow I feel there should be a site which tells which combinations of processors-boards-graphic cards-OS which are known to work well or don't (though that's a tricky thing because it depends on what/how one is doing etc.) or is it already there?
