If its a SCSI yamaha, the sg (SCSI generic) driver should handle it. If
it's an IDE yamaha, you need SCSI emulation support (makes an ATAPI drive
look like a SCSI drive) in order for sg to work..

Use cdrecord -scanbus to find out the device ID of your burner. The only
thing you need in the kernel is SCSI generic and/or SCSI emulation
support.
