If you can find it!!!
I was trying to find the 13.6GB Barracuda.. couldn't. Out of stock. 20GB
then.. still nothing. I finally got a 28GB (one of the last ones in
Greenhills, I might add). PhP 9,500 which isn't bad.
The speed is significantly higher than UltraWide SCSI, I must say. I just
used Linux hdparm(8) to measure the sustained transfer rate, it's almost
TWICE my 9.1GB SCSI Barracuda on an Adaptec 2940.
However: 1) you need a UDMA66 controller to get the maximum speed. 2) you
still can't beat the scalability of SCSI (up to 4 drives only on the
UDMA66 controller).
