Hello. I have an IDE-CDROM and an IDE-CDRW drives installed in a single box. I use "cdrecord" (XCDRoast) for writing data on the IDE-CDRW. "cdrecord" can only recognize SCSI cdr's so I had to enable the IDE-SCSI tranlator (a.k.a. SCSI emulation) on teh kernel. I was able to make things work -- burned RH on disk for ISO, made a few copies. So everything looked OK.. But when I tried to mount a the CD-ROM (my other drive), it cannot be recognized. In the HOW-TO, it is mentioned that I had to rehash the symlink of /dev/cdrom from /dev/hdc to /dev/scd1 (the CD-RW is the master, and the CD-ROM is the slave in the 2nd IDE port). Anybody know what I did wrong? stay cool. jeff -- -- Jeff Gutierrez --- http://www.gra.ph graPH - The substance that makes techies tick! - Philippine Linux Users Group.
