This will be a bit off-topic (albeit still linux) but i'd appreciate your
comments/suggestions re: mailing list managers.
We'll be operating a mailing list server for an Internet advertising
company that expects a load of around 500-800 messages a day. We're
currently evaluating majordomo and listserv and was surprised of
listserv's $7,900 price tag excluding support and their lsmtp package,
which when included could jump to close to $20K! so we're
definitely going for the ubiquitous majordomo. anyways, one thing that
management is concerned about is the security of majordomo. Can you share
your insights on this? Perhaps those among you who operate large lists
could give out your ideas.. i've always thought that majordomo is only as
secure as the system's mail server (sendmail). So if we keep sendmail
secure enough, then majordomo also is. or am i right? i'd surely
appreciate comments. btw, the mail server will be linux/sendmail.
