I only have experience with Nokia 5110 and 6150. The cheapest Nokia phone
I know of that you can use as a GSM modem is the 5110. Note that you do
NOT connect your regular modem to the GSM phone -- it has an internal
9.6kbps data/fax modem that you connect to your serial port via a DAU-9
cable (or DLR-3 for 7110/8850 but the latter are not cheap phones).

Note that the 3210 has no modem. Its basically a toy for people who just
want ringtones and picture messages.

The 6110/6150 also have a 9.6kbps modem, but it can be "upgraded" via
firmware to 14.4kbps using Wintesla and an MBUS cable.

The higher-end Ericsson phones (T18, T28S, R320S) also have IR and data
modem functionality. I dont know if the cheap ones (GF688, A1018S) do so.
Probably, but I'd check if I were you..
