Hi there,
Go to http://www2.mozcom.com/~orly/
You will find two files: SerialNo-IDS (serial number_ and ids-le2.tar.gz.
The latter is the Informix Dynamic Server 7.24 for Linux glibc2 (don't
know if it will work with 2.1). This is a full server, not just the
client, but it does include ESQL/C. If you want to, you might want to
install IDS 7 as well (it's supposed to be on par with Oracle8..)
I have a brief guide to installing IDS 7 and patching Red Hat at
http://www.linux.org.ph/post-linux99/oandico-elwdbi/
linux99.html#SECTION00033000000000000000
(it's from my presentation at Linux99.. sorry 'bout the ugly diagrams..
that's the fault of LaTeX2HTML.. I used xfig to draw them)
That same document also has some notes about installing DBD::Informix.
Enjoy!
