Probably, but you'll never know for sure. Drives are strange animals.

It wouldn't be the first time. It's happened to me before, when I stuffed a
mini-tower case with 4 Seagate Barracudas.

Get an enclosure that was designed for ventilation. Most off-the-shelf
commercial PC cases, even full-tower ones, are designed to look nice on
your desk, but are _terrible_ for heavy duty use. Arrange your cables so as
not to obstruct the flow of air. If you use rack-mounted stuff, make sure
your rack has fans at the top as heat can build up quickly in a closed
rack. Store your server in a temperature-controlled room, etc. It's mostly
just common sense (e.g. not stuffing a mini-tower with 4 Seagate
Barracudas).
