Why do you have to monitor your CPU's temperature? To prolong its
life? Here's my 2 cents:

CPU speed doubles at approximately every 18 months. CPU warranty is
at most 3 years. So if your CPU get busted in less than the
warranty period, you get a free upgrade! On the other hand, if
your CPU is already old, upgrading won't hurt either.
