hi. can somebody enlighten me about DNS MX records? according to the docs
i read, MX records point to mail servers of a domain. these servers are
supposedly configured to receive mail for a domain and forward it to an
appropriate server.
does this mean that having an mx for ateneo.net will have my mx machine
receive mail for [EMAIL PROTECTED] OTHER than for
[EMAIL PROTECTED]? given of course, that i configure my mx machine to accept
mail for @machine.ateneo.net. in this setup, i don't have an external dns
entry for machine.ateneo.net.
the reason i asked this is i want only my mail gateway to have a routable
ip address...and still have [EMAIL PROTECTED] e-mail
addresses for my users within campus.
vince.
