Hi there everyone,

I don't have any experience as far as Sun servers or workstations are
concerned. I've only heard about them and always thought they were out of my
league. I guess this question goes out to those like Orly Andico who I believe
have worked / are working with Sun computers. I'm apologizing in advance for my
very vague questions. Please don't force me to narrow them down. I can't, yet.
But I will as I learn more. :-)

We are considering a Sun server for use as a webserver (with database backend
support for an e-commerce site) + FTP + e-mail + DNS. For these purposes, is
Linux+Sun a recommendable solution? Are there differences in the binaries to be
used? What particular specifications, or what server/model/whatever would be
recommended? Would anyone have particular recommendations for the daemons to be
used for the abovementioned requirements? So far I've only had experience with
x86's, so Sun is still out of my league.

Hope you kind folks can help me out! Muchos gracias! :)
