A friend of mine requested me to post this question to the group.

The database that we used before was MySQL-based, we are now shifting to
PostgreSQL. I was assigned to change all MySQL functions to their
PostgreSQL counterparts. There was one MySQL function, 'dataseek', that I
was not able to find its PostgreSQL equivalent.

I would like to know if there is a PostgreSQL counterpart for MySQL's
'dataseek' function. If there isn't, would you give me suggestions on how
to edit the cgi(perl) files with the 'dataseek' function so as to make it
function like the original (MySQL function-containing) files. Thank you
very much. I hope for your response.
