I've installed BeOS on my "real" machine. It feels better. The 3dfx card
was detected right away, and it can boot from the hard drive. Six-second
boot isn't quite there, more like 10 seconds. I'm dialled in from BeOS
right now, using the BeOS terminal. telnet and company work fine.
I'm running at 1024x768 and the cascading menus aren't nearly as annoying
(since there's lots of screen real estate to show them on). Apparently
PCtel soft modems are also supported (I was too pissed off last night to
see it..)
