The guys have pointed out IPhil and Linux Philippines as supporting Linux.
This is software side. I'd probably add Compaq and IBM for hardware, but
I'm not sure if the local reps do so officially. They're pretty loud about
supporting Linux in a lot of their press releases worldwide, so I'd think
that the locals would toe that line. As for services, there are quite a
number of private companies that do support Linux.

Just take a look at all the companies that were involved in Linux '99 for
an idea. I forgot the URL to the site, but I'm sure one of the other list
members will help us remember. :)

No exact figures. Most are guesstimates. You can check
http://counter.li.org for a rough idea of usage. But the figures there are
inaccurate. They will simply give you general idea of Linux users who know
about the Counter. Please register with the Linux Counter if you use Linux
and haven't registered yet.

That's a bit like asking what is Windows being commonly used for in the
Philippines. You'll get a broad range of answers to that one. Linux is
being used in all those capacities, plus some others. A lot of users on
this list are also systems administrators and they would be able to tell
you what they use Linux for in their environments. There are also a good
number of users who simply use Linux personally for everyday stuff.

A good starting point would be the Linux Documentation Project at
http://www.linuxdoc.org which I also mirror at
http://web.upm.edu.ph/~xenos/LDP which could be convenient if you're a few
hops away from ph.net.

http://www.linux.com and http://www.linux.org are also good starting
points.
