Booting is done via lilo.
Look at /etc/lilo.conf
See where it's pointing whether /dev/hda (Master Boot
Record) or /dev/hda#
Adjust it properly whether you want lilo as the primary
booter or you have some other boot utility.
as root do a lilo -v and it's done.
If you use a boot utility, set it to boot Linux as a choice.
