Well, my current project is attempting to use the Embeddable Linux
Kernel Subset (ELKS) on the Am186 microcontroller... The trouble with
actually making embedded systems that incorporate Linux is the cost of
the hardware. There are very few manufacturers out here which can
produce multilayer PCB's that can incorporate surface mount and PGA
devices, and they tend to like bulk orders. I couldn't even convince
them to make a short run of a few units for development purposes. They
smugly told me to send my design to Hong Kong and get it done there.
Fortunately, it seems ASTI can provide for our manufacturing needs
now...
