The processor now consumes much larger quantities of power these days. 
An AMD K6-2 running at 450 MHz consumes about 17-30 W.  A video card
like an S3 Savage4 or an Nvidia RIVA TNT2 consumes large amounts of
power as well, roughly 15-20 W.  A hard disk like my Barracuda 7200 RPM
drive would consume more than 25, I think.  Total consumption for a
modern, mid- to high-end PC these days is closer to 150 W than it is to
50.
