Yes, in the cdrom there is a directory called "images". There are two files
you will need: cdrom.img and txt_boot.img. cdrom.img is for graphical
install, while txt_boot.img is for text mode install. If you are still using
DOS or Win9X you can use rawrite ( /dosutils subdirectory); but if you are
already using linux: "cp /where/cd-is-mounted/images/cdrom.img /dev/fd0" if
the boot disk does not work, try this instead:
"dd if=/where/cd-is-mounted/images/cdrom.img of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k"

The above methods are for Mandrake 7.0, but I think they will work for Mdk
7.1 too.

hth.

ps: it is much better to install directly from cdrom. If your cdrom won't
boot just make sure your bios sees it. if your bios does not see it try to
make your bios autodetect it.
