This is an extremely late reply if the timestamp of your message is
correct. For whatever it's worth, though:

1. Read up on the Samba docs, they'll help you a lot. :-)
2. For starters, here are some lines from my smb.conf:

        domain logons = yes
        logon drive = y:
        logon home = \\%N\%U\.profile
        logon script = startup.bat
        time server = true
        preferred master = yes
        local master = yes
        domain master = yes
        os level = 255
