yup, i have already downloaded it and i was reading its documentation already.

after i have compiled my apache with apache_ssl directive, it created a 
httpsd and a httpsd.conf.

after "make install", i was prompted to use httpsdctl start.

its an old slackware distro. anyway, thanks cito for the input. i will try 
mod_ssl naman.
