Hello all,

I have a problem. I am (finally) upgrading my own machine to kernel 2.2.16
and ReiserFS 3.5.22, however I am using a Promise PDC20262 UDMA66
controller (it's on the motherboard). Andre Hedrick maintains this driver,
but the currently available patch at kernel.org (for 2.2.16-pre7 or
something) does not apply cleanly to 2.2.16 stock kernel, and the kernel
is rendered uncompilable.

Anyone have any ideas how I can remedy this? (and no, not "put the hard
drive back on the UDMA33 controller," as I get something like an 80% speed
boost when I'm connected to the Promise).
